1. Is there any beer in BEER NUTS®?
No. Early in our history, we made the startling discovery that people who drink beer are often hungry. We also noticed that hungry people will sometimes drink beer. To serve the greater good and bridge this gap, we sold our nuts in bars, taverns and liquor stores. They were immensely popular and so we chose the name BEER NUTS®. We also sold them at gas stations, but GAS NUTS didn't have quite the same ring. For more information, take a look at the history of our company.
2. I thought all BEER NUTS® were peanuts.
Originally they were, but the brand grew so strong, so quickly, that the misperception still lingers. But years later we were smart enough to figure out our unique sweet and salty coating tastes just as fantastic on cashews, almonds…and on just about any nut we tried. Since we are so fond of our name, and the recipe for our secret coating didn't change a bit, we consider all our products part of BEER NUTS® Brand Snacks. 3. What kind of nuts do you use?
For our peanut products, we use Jumbo Runner and Virginia Extra-Large peanut varieties which are grown in Georgia, Alabama and Virginia. The almonds are almost exclusively Nonpareil Supreme Variety almonds, which are grown in California. Our cashews are grown in India, Mozambique and Tanzania. 4. What is the best way to store BEER NUTS® Brand Snacks once opened?
After opening the package, the product freshness can be extended if kept in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. Refrigerating them helps to preserve their freshness. Air and light are the enemy, so if you intend to keep the nuts for a long period of time, you can freeze them. Try our Flavor-Savor Jar for storing. If you want the best tasting product possible, we suggest opening them as the FedEx driver is pulling away.
5. So beside the fantastic taste, what's so great about nuts?
Nuts are an excellent source of protein, fiber, vitamin E, magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, biotin, riboflavin, niacin, and iron. Several recent studies show that the inclusion of nuts in diets will work to decrease deaths due to cardiovascular diseases. What's more, some doctors say that a small amount of peanuts each day may reduce cholesterol. Nuts contain no cholesterol (cholesterol is contained only in animal food). They are high in protein, and help build muscle and new cells in your body. Also, most nuts are very low in saturated fats. They mainly contain polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids. Unsaturated fat (mono and poly) is not harmful, and may indeed be beneficial. It helps raising high-density lipoproteins (HDL) or good cholesterol, thus lowering the risk of heart disease. 1. Is BEER NUTS® Brand Snacks part of a much larger corporation?
Nope. We take pride in the fact that we are still a family-owned and operated business. And have been for three generations. For more information, take a look at the history of our company.
2. Where are BEER NUTS® Brand Snacks products made?
All BEER NUTS® Brand Snacks products are still produced in our hometown manufacturing plant in Bloomington, Illinois. From here we ship to all fifty states and many foreign countries.
3. Is everything that's made by BEER NUTS® Brand Snacks available online?
Yes. However, we offer many different sizes and packaging. That means, you can't get everything in a store that you can get online. If you can't find the product you are looking for at your local retail store, ask the manager to add it. You'll likely be a local hero.
1. Do you charge sales tax?
In most states we do not charge sales tax. The exception is Illinois. All orders shipped within this state will be charged applicable sales tax.
2. When ordering online, why does my credit card show a pending charge of $1.01?
In order to verify that the card used for your purchase is valid, the credit card processor executes a test transaction of $1.01 to the account used to make the purchase. This charge should appear as “Pending” in your transaction history. Once the card has been validated, and the product is shipped, the $1.01 charge will be removed and the full charge for your order will be processed. If the $1.01 charge has not been removed 48 hours after the full charge has been processed, please contact us.
3. Can I order without a credit card or not offline?
You may pay by check or money order, but you will need to contact our Company Store at 1.800.BEERNUTS to place the order. Orders paid by check or money order cannot ship until payment is received.
4. What is your return policy?
All products purchased from BEER NUTS® Brand Snacks are guaranteed to be fresh. If you are not completely satisfied, please contact Customer Service at 1.800.BEER.NUTS or email us.
1. Can I order from and/or ship outside the United States?
We will happily ship everywhere FedEx® ships. For a quote to ship outside the United States, please email the products and quantities of items you wish to ship along with the address to firstname.lastname@example.org. International orders may not be placed online and additional shipping fees will apply.
2. What does free shipping mean?
Any order being shipped via FedEx® SmartPost® (not Priority) within the United States can ship for free. All Priority shipments will be charged according to location. FedEx® SmartPost® typically takes 5-7 business days to reach its destination. Shipments sent to Hawaii, Alaska, and APO addresses may be shipped using this method, but do not fall under the 5-7 business day guarantee.
3. Can I ship to a P.O. Box?
Yes. In fact, you are able to ship to a P.O. box as well as APO boxes. Because FedEx® uses SmartPost©, we are able to ship to P.O. Boxes and APO boxes as long as the shipment weighs less than 150 lbs. Please note that packages shipping via FedEx® SmartPost© may take a few additional days to arrive at their destination. Packages shipping to APO addresses can take up to 5 weeks to deliver depending on where the recipient is stationed. The 5-7 business day delivery guarantee does not apply to APO shipments.
3. What is your shipping policy?
We want our products to get to you in the best state possible. We offer overnight (including Saturday delivery), 2 day express and standard (5-7 business days) shipping. Because temperatures vary across the country, we may choose to not ship some items over the weekend in order to ensure premium quality upon arrival.
